My dog needs basic training. Do you offer that?
My dog bit someone. Can you help?
What kind of methods do you use?
As certified professionals, we have each signed a pledge to follow Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA) guidelines. In practice, that means we focus on teaching desired behavior through positive reinforcement. We will show you how to use treats, toys, and other things your pet likes to encourage them to choose behaviors you like. We also like to make the training fun for the humans, by the way!
How much will it cost?
That depends. Some clients only need an Initial Consultation to get on the right track. Most clients need follow-up sessions as well.
The Online Initial Consultation is $349 with Paul or Vic or $449 with Irith. Training after the Initial Consultation is $199 with Vic or Paul, or $249 with Irith. The prices are the same for online and in-person training, but our in-person service areas are limited, and travel fees apply in some areas.
How long will it take?
There are many factors that affect how fast training progresses. They include, among other things, how much effort you put it, how long the behavior has been happening, and how quickly the dog (or other pet) is able to learn new things. It’s hard to make predictions, but we can tell you this much: The more you are willing to put into the training, the better it will go.
Where do you work?
The Sophisticated Dog offers Online Training via video to clients all around the world. Wherever you are, as long as you have an internet connection, we can help!
We also offer In-Person Training in limited areas. These include parts of Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks, Balboa, Ventura, Montecito, Santa Barbara, as well as some of the surrounding areas. Travel fees may apply depending on your exact location.
